Just a few months after the first production expansion, Villeroy & Boch completed a new investment in Sacmi pressure casting machines.
The number of Sacmi AVM operating at Villeroy & Boch Hungary’s site at Hódmezővásárhely has now reached a total of 8. This is the latest milestone achieved as part of the plan to expand production at the Hungarian branch of Villeroy&Boch, the famous brand with 275 years of history and a leading role in the industry for the manufacture of high-quality design sanitaryware.
Finalized just a few months after the first production expansion was completed, the new supply (as with the previous one) includes all the latest casting technologies and automatic systems. In addition, the molds were developed in close cooperation with the customer’s team and designed to make the new models of wall-hung WCs, already the flagship products of the new Villeroy&Boch collections.
The installed machines consist in 4 new AVM 150, which will be dedicated to production of the new WC models and will be assisted by a pair of robots. These were the natural choice of casting solution for the customer to invest in, since they are renowned for the production of complex WCs and stand out for their guarantee of top quality and repeatability in the production process. Furthermore, the AVM 150 represent an optimum balance between versatility and automation.
Accordingly, at the same time as the new expansion, the automatic system for car loading - SACMI RobotLoad - was also updated. In this way, the casting department is directly connected to the glazing department, relieving workers from heavy-duty and repetitive manual handling operations, and the efficiency of the entire production flow is improved as a result.
